- I would like to thank all the great comments and great folks that have made The Poppy Mountain (presents the IIIrd Tyme Out) BGF the festival it is....... Folks like ya'll have built Martys empire into the LARGEST TRADITIONAL Bluegrass Festival in the world. I would like to thank the past influnances to the festival..... W/O the helps and visions of Melvin and Lee Stevens , Chris Binion , Melvin Goins and others Poppy would'nt be as great! John Payne and Sandy Knipp are probally the greatest help and boosts ( from the working stance) Marty has had! The fans of Bluegrass and Party have made Poppy Mountain a monster!
Thanks to all the Volunteer help... ya'll have eased a large burden for Marty!
I am saddened and excited on my next step in this industry.....
I'm creating Old National Bluegrass, based out of the Dayton, Ohio area...
My beloved family will be booking some of the BEST up and coming Bands as well as some of our favorites! I am pursuing a venue or two to put on BG concert with a partner from Wilmington. We also plan are offering a Festival Consulting/ Marketing and Programing contingent of ONBG. A festival may lurk in the future too!
Marty, I thank you for the oppurtunity to grow indivdually as well as professionally. VERY fond memories will be taken with me as I go on new endevors, both as a promoter and as a fan! You have had the best help in creating The Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival..... Treat em great and they'll be here forever!
Thank You again for the GREAT memories to all the great folks coming upo the hill each September!
